DC Signature Bodkins | DC Signature Dubbing Brush and The Bobber Brush | DC Fly-tying Tool Caddy | DC Fly Display
Dennis Collier Signature Bodkins:
Each bodkin is hand cut, shaped and beautifully finished from exotic Brazilian Marblewood. As a result, no two bodkins are exactly alike. Extra heavy gauge needles are deeply seated and expoxied for durability.
- Standard: Short handle, long needle
- Epoxy model "SH": Long handle, short-heavy needle
- Epoxy model "SF": Long handle, short-fine needle
The epoxy models are designed for maximum control when applying epoxy to flies such as "Copper John's", etc. The Short Heavy will pick up more material for larger patterns, while the Short Fine will give you just the right amount for those smaller sizes. The epoxy models were the brain child of me and Charlie Craven when he bemoaned the fact that one of his beloved tying tools, the Tiemco Dubbing Needle, had been discontinued. Two heads to create one great idea, and now you can be the benefactor.
These unique fly tying instruments are available exclusively at Charlie's Fly Box:

Dennis Collier Signature Dubbing Brush and The Bobber Brush
The soft brass bristles of these brushes have just enough spike to comb, tease and brush a variety of fly-tying materials into gentle submission. The long handle version is designed for comfortable use at your tying station, while the short handled Bobber Brush is engineered for combing out and fluffing up those yarn strike indicators which many anglers find attractive. The Bobber Brush also comes equipped with a handy chain for attachment to your vest or pack.
Each brush handle is sanded to a very fine finish and embellished with a related graphic (so you don't forget what they are intended for) and signed for authentication. Accept no substitutes!
In either case, you will want to flare the bristles with your thumb prior to use. This brush actually performs better the more beat up it becomes, so don't be bashful about giving it some hard use (The photos are of my own well broken-in tools.)
Both brushes are available exclusively at Charlie's Fly Box:

Dennis Collier Limited Edition Fly-tying Tool Caddy
Beautifully hand-crafted from furniture-grade American hardwoods, with striking laminations of exotic woods from as far away as Africa and Brazil; these rock solid caddies will enhance your work area and organize your fly-tying tools in impressive fashion.
Each caddy is custom made one at a time ... no mass production, no cheap imports here, just good old fashioned American craftsmanship for those who appreciate the value in that. You also won't find these in any fly shop, so the only way to get one is to contact me and place an order. We'll discuss the details of your personal caddy, any specific tool requirements, etc., by e-mail or phone, and seal the deal with a check or money order. Sorry, I don't take credit cards and you really don't want to be sending cash through the mail!

The standard dimensions are approximately 9 3/4 inches long, 5 1/2 inches wide, and 3 inches tall. Tool holes are chamfered to eliminate chipping around the edges, and the base is covered with felt for scratch protection on your wife's antique Chippendale table. Of course, larger sizes can be created on a custom basis with the price being adjusted accordingly.
Standard woods include figured American Walnut with laminations of African Padauk or Purple Heart, hard maple, and Brazilian Marblewood. Other woods, such as Bubinga, Cocobolo, etc., can be substituted with the price adjusted accordingly to reflect the price of the exotic wood. (The choice of exotic woods is subject to local availability).

Each piece is signed and numbered, then given several coats of semi-gloss polyurethane to enhance the grain of the woods, and provide a durable finish for years of trusty companionship.
An excellent gift for the discriminating fly-tying angler who doesn't quite "have everything."
Base price: $125.00 USD, plus appropriate shipping and handling. Please allow three to four weeks for delivery.

Dennis Collier Limited Edition Fly Display
These beautifully hand-crafted Limited Edition fly displays feature a base of American hardwood with a striking laminated trout silhouette of African Padauk veneer. Each display is hand sanded to a very fine finish, signed and numbered, then given several coats of semi-gloss polyurethane to bring the wood grain to life. Bases are covered in felt to provide scratch protection on delicate furniture surfaces.
Each display is custom made one at a time ... no mass production, no cheap imports here, just good old fashioned American craftsmanship for those who appreciate the value in that. You also won't find these in any fly shop, so the only way to get one is to contact me and place an order. We'll discuss the details of your order - such as alternative fish species, alternative woods, and etc., by e-mail or phone - and seal the deal with a check or money order. Sorry, I don't take credit cards and you really don't want to be sending cash through the mail!
Standard base size is approximately 14 1/2 inches long, 6 inches wide. The trout image is roughly one-half-inch smaller all around. Seven clip holes are standard on the base display. Other silhouette options are available; please inquire. Exotic woods, such as Bubinga, Cocobolo, etc., can be substituted - with the price adjusted accordingly to reflect the price of the material. Note: The selection of exotic woods is subject to local product availability. (The base top edge will be routed on the limited edition pieces for an additional visual element).
Your display will be accompanied with the appropriate number of fly pattern clips and a generous supply of "Quake Wax" to secure the clips when using larger and/or weighted patterns which have a tendency to tip the clip. This is the stuff they use in Los Angeles to keep that priceless Ming vase from falling off the mantle during a 6.5 "rock and roller." Additional clips can be ordered for $2.25 each.
An excellent gift for the discriminating fly-tying angler or exhibition tier who doesn't quite "have everything."
Base price: $115.00 USD, plus appropriate shipping and handling. Please allow three to four weeks for delivery.
